Shooting green screen is a great way to impress your customers and distinguish yourself from the competition. - How do I begin using your Green Screen Services?
- To use our Green Screen Services, all customers must go through our pre-approval process to ensure proper background usage and lighting technique.
- What's involved in the pre-approval process?
- The pre-approval process is very simple. Upload one of your green screen images using ROES, and we'll drop out the background and send the file back to you. You will be notified the following day of any problems we noticed with your image (ie. inconsistent exposure or lighting, etc.), and let you know if you're approved for our base pricing.
- Why must I go through an approval process?
- By providing example extractions in advance, we hope to ensure that you are completely satisfied with the level of service we can provide for your specific images. We also want you shooting with the most effective and consistent methods to improve the process if possible.
- Can you give me tips on how to get the best results when shooting with Green Screen?
- Definitely! We have an extensive informational guide that covers lighting, shooting, backgrounds, etc. that we've created from testing these methods ourselves. Special assistance from our resident green screen expert is also available by appointment.
- What Green Screen Services do you offer?
- We offer an easy to use file transfer service for extraction from green or blue backdrops, and/ or background replacement with your backgrounds or ours. For prints or products, ROES Records offers data-driven background package ordering.
- What is the cost?
- $0.25/ image. If your files do not meet our quality standards, you'll be contacted prior to the start of your job to discuss your options and pricing.
- If my green screen job was shot inconsistently, will the cost per image remain the same?
- This will be determined prior to the start of your job, and Customer Service will contact you with the information including pricing.
- What is the turnaround time?
- 2 business days (for orders received by 7:00pm EST, Sunday through Thursday) for digital file transfer orders (no prints/products).
- 3 business days (for orders received by 7:00pm EST, Sunday through Thursday) for orders containing prints/products.
- How do I submit my orders for prints and specialty items once I've been approved?
- Orders must be submitted using our version of ROES specifically for ordering Green Screen Services that you'll be issued after approval.
- What backgrounds do you offer?
- We offer over 300 backgrounds! View them here.
- Can I use my own backgrounds?
- Yes, you can use your own backgrounds once they've been approved (to rule out any issues we foresee involving cropping, etc.). Background images can be uploaded in ROES for approval, and a representative will contact you when approved.
- How does cropping work?
- Our backgrounds are sized at a 4x5 aspect ratio, and designed to withstand minimal cropping from the sides. When ordering images only, backgrounds are placed to best fit the dimensions of your original images. When ordering prints, backgrounds are cropped from the top or sides to accommodate the print size.
- How many backgrounds can I use per order?
- One background choice is available for ALL images in an order.
- Can you send me your background files?
- You can view our background files, but we are unable to provide you with the high res versions of these files. Indicate your background choice in when placing your order in ROES.
- I didn't shoot my images on a green screen. Can you still extract the subjects for me?
- Sure! This would not be considered a "Green Screen Service", but would fall under the category of "Custom Retouching". You can submit your image(s) in ROES or ExpressDigital Darkroom, and you'll be contacted with a quote for cost and turnaround time for the order for approval.
- Am I able to get a discount for "studio samples" for Green Screen Services?
- Unfortunately there is no discount available on the Green Screen Service cost itself, but you are eligible for discounts on any prints or products you order as studio samples using those images. We always offer 50% off of studio samples (up to $1000 per year ($500 after discount)).To order studio samples, you must leave an order comment in the order stating, "50% off for studio samples".
